Statue of Sheikh Al-Balad “the village chief”. It is a statue belonging to the ‘Ka-abar’, the head of an ancient Egyptian territory in the Fifth Dynasty, who is responsible for reciting the prayers of the deceased in the temples. It is truly one of the masterpieces of this special position in the ancient kingdom.
Made of sycamore wood, it was discovered by the French archaeologist “Auguste Mariette” in Saqqara. 4500 years ago
