The tree of life:
Papyrus represents a scene from the tomb of “Khnumhotep”, a ruler of the 12th Dynasty (1897-1878 BC) during the reign of King “Amenemhat II” in Middle Egypt.
The tree symbolizes human life and the age stages that it passes through five birds standing on the tree of life. Four of them symbolize the stages of childhood, adulthood, youth and old age, looking at the direction of the sunrise, which symbolizes life, and a bird symbolizing the West, meaning the direction of death, which means entering into the Underworld of the Dead.
