The symbolism of the scarab in the Pharaonic civilization
Pharaonic sacred beetle
The Pharaonic civilization was distinguished by the reverence of more than one type of animals, such as the stork and the cat, as they sanctified the scarab, meaning the black beetle, and called it the name of my expert, and a gap from the names of the god Ra, the sun god.
The beetle feeds on carrion and dung and forms a ball of dung and rolls it in front of it until it reaches its burrow and lays its eggs inside it, which feed on this ball until it comes out to life.
And as they used to carry them as amulets to protect themselves from evil, as they believed that this insect renewed itself by itself, and the Pharaohs sanctified it to a scarab by likening it to their idol, the god Ra, as they linked between them that this beetle forms a ball of dung that it rolls and drags it behind it and then hides with it in the sand to appear as a new creation, thus resembling disappearance The sun during the night and its reappearance in the morning.
The ancient Egyptian represented Ra, the sun god, in the daytime with the sun disk, and at night represented him in the form of a scarab.
And they believed that the scarab had great power to protect the heart and gave a new life to the deceased, so they extracted the heart from the corpse and put in its place an amulet in the form of a scarab, as it is the symbol of an expert god and embodies the invisible power of creation.
And they carved scarabs out of solid stone, such as polished soapy magnesium silicate, limestone, or faience, which are in a bluish-green colour and have drawings that include protective talismans, which sometimes hide some mysteries and pictures of gods and kings, sometimes the drawings are real scenes and sacred animals.
Egyptians found in the modern era thousands of carvings that represent the image of a ladybug in the tombs.
There have been many rumours among people that the citric acid age on these carvings as they move, and the only explanation for this case was that the carvings were from a stone called the sweating stone and an animal vein extracted from the heart of the porcupine stomach is in the form of a spiral. Magicians strongly fear this stone. The rumour is that anyone who wears an amulet from this stone and any magician tries his magic, the magician will inevitably perish, and this was nothing but evidence that the pharaohs discovered the secret of this stone and made their identities from it. Of course, some lie about the existence of this stone and another who believes it.
