Tomb of Amenhotep II, This tomb shares with Tuthmosis III (AD 34); The main difference is the more complex burial chamber structure. It is designed in the shape of a rectangle, with six columns supporting its roof. It is divided into two parts at different levels. The entrance to the tomb was roofed to prevent future flood damage, such as the one that occurred in 1994 when rain entered the tomb. Before the roof was built, the entrance to the tomb was well closed. That is why priests chose it in the tenth century to hide the royal mummies from thieves (the royal lair).
