The miracle of making milk
It is a miracle worth pondering for a long time. How can a cow produce 25 kg of milk every day without tiring? Let’s contemplate this amazing verse.
The formation of milk in cows depends mainly on the movement of blood and the transport of food. Experts say that one cow can make 25 kilograms of milk per day, and this amount of milk needs ten thousand kilograms of blood!
The cow’s body contains 45 litres of blood; this quantity is in continuous and very rapid circulation, mainly in the udder, where the blood, including the chewed herbs, is considered the raw material for the manufacture of milk.
The cow eats 100 litres of herbs a day and chews more than forty thousand times a day!! The cow is considered a huge factor, but it is very small, as it produces milk tirelessly. It is designed primarily for this task. Where are the evolutionists from this strange phenomenon that calls for contemplation!
The process begins with the digestion of a portion of the food (for example, herbs) by mixing it with water in the first stomach, where these herbs are broken down by stomach bacteria and returned to the mouth for further chewing, then through the second stomach re-chew the food as a second stage to make it softer. And then, through the third stomach presses the food to remove water from it and purify it from harmful substances, the fourth stomach finishes the chewing process where the chewed food goes to the small intestine. The other part goes to the udder.
The process of digestion is very complex and organized in cattle. The process of worrying for the cow takes place in four stages, and these processes are necessary to ensure the production of purer and more delicious milk. And when one of the digestive processes or the process of blood circulation and hormone distribution is disrupted… the milk becomes unfit for use, glory to God!
So the scientific fact says that the formation of milk in the udders of cows and cattle, in general, takes place in the udder through the blood supplied by the products of the digested food. The milk comes out from between this blood and from among the so-called dung (the grass chewed in the bellies of cows) in an amazing way that baffles minds.
This precise mechanism of milk formation, which was only discovered in the modern era, was foretold in the Qur’an is a great verse, is a lesson for anyone who wants to consider and contemplate the power of the Creator, the Mighty and Sublime. The Almighty said: (And there is a lesson to you in the cattle. We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, between the dung and the blood of an adulterer). The farthes are the nutrients that blood transports from the stomach to the udder to produce milk, including the hormones, proteins and enzymes it contains…
Here we must ask the questions:
How did the Holy Prophet know that the formation of milk requires blood and dung as a basis, and without them, it is not formed?
And how did he know that milk comes out of these substances: blood and dung?
What prompts him to delve into a scientific fact that his people do not know, and those who came after them hundreds of years do not know it?
It is God Almighty who sent down the Qur’an and gave us this verse to contemplate it and increase our certainty and lesson and submit to the Creator, the Mighty and Sublime, and increase our faith in this Great God Almighty.
