The impressive success of the restorers working in the Temple of Dandara in removing the black smoke that accumulated on the ceilings for thousands of years while preserving the original colours thanks to a chemical formula invented by the chemist Jamal Mahjoub. The picture shows half of the cleaned roof and the other half covered with soot or smoke due to people staying in the temple and practising their daily cooking, baking, heating and burning waste for centuries.
