The Holy of Holies (Isis House) / Philae Temple / Angelika Island / Aswan
The island is 460 meters long and 150 meters wide
The temple was built in 690 BC by Isis because the ancient Egyptians believed that she had found the heart of her husband, Osiris, over Philae Island after his brother Set him killed him and cut it over the island, so the island became sacred
The Philae Temple complex was dismantled, moved, and reconstructed over the island of Anguilla, after the construction of the High Dam, between 1972 and 1982.
The second edifice is connected to the pillared hall with ten columns, after passing through some waiting rooms and then a room decorated with ritual views. It has several compartments, including the compartment of Osiris and Horus.
The right-hand compartment of Hathor, and the left-hand compartment of Isis, then to the holiest site at the end of the temple
The Holy of Holies contains influential scenes that combine Isis and Osiris, like the scene in which Isis spread its wings behind Osiris, saying, “I will embrace your beauty.”
Its pink granite base carried the sacred boat bearing the image of Isis.
The scenes of the Holy of Holies represent Ptolemy the Second, and he presents various vessels.
Winged Isis views protect the king.
The right part of Horus and his birth and the left part of Osir is explained by separating life and death.
On the western side of the waiting room, there is a small room with a door leading to the exit from the temple to reach Hadrian’s Gate. This door leads to a staircase leading to the roof of the temple.
