The Holy Book of Ancient Egypt, The Book of Caves
describes the journey of “Ra” (the sun) in the caves of the lower world, and the oldest part of the Book of Caves was found on one of the walls of the Osiris in Abydos, and it also appears in the tomb of Ramses IV, who used parts of the oldest copy of it, a copy of the Osirion, and we find a complete copy of it in Tomb of King Ramses VI
The Book of the Caves talks about the fate of spirits in the other world and karma, meaning the law of cause and effect. The sequent concept of reward and punishment in the other world, meaning that what a person does in this world determines his destinies in the other world, and the law of cause and effect (karma) is the law Kony decides that whoever owes a debt and whoever carries a debt must repay it. Th. Thees also deals with the fate of the spirits who fail in passing the trial in the Maat Hall in front o Auxerre and the bad fate they received, as well as the fate of the souls who pass the trial and what they have received from the good outcome. Caves are the best source from which to learn about the concept of “hell” in Egyptian civilization.
The Book of Caves is divided into two main parts, each part consisting of 6 chapters. It contains more verbal texts than pictorial expressions. Thek describes Ra’s journey (accompanied by the souls of the dead) in the underworld through caves, a journey through which he goes through many difficulties and cosmic powers help him overcome these difficulties.
“Ra” passes through the caves of the underworld, accompanied by the soul of the deceased. In every underworld cave, the soul encounters difficulty and faces a test that it must pass successfully. Otherwise, its destiny will be “annihilation.”
For the ancient Egyptians, annihilation was the worst fate that the soul could face, and the artist expresses it in the form of a human body.
The first section of the book deals with “Ra” when he begins his journey in the underworld and enters the kingdom of darkness to defend and protect Osir and guides the souls of the dead on their journey in the underworld. Ra passes through the first cave that protects the entrance to the serpents, and Ra greets Osir by extending his hand to him. Where Osir sits in his coffin guarded by serpents, and while passing through the cave in which Osir is located, the unfortunate souls who did not pass the trial receive their sinister fate, so they cut off their heads, that is, receive the fate of annihilation. The place where souls are spent is called (the place of extermination), where the punishment is carried out by guards who carry in their hands a knife
The caves are considered in the books of the other world in ancient Egypt as hell for the enemies of Ra, as they are the place where they cast bad fate. At the same time, those caves are safe for enlightened spirits who have gained spiritual knowledge in their life on earth where the nitro (cosmic forces) help those spirits. Kindness, providing her with energy supplies and helping her to pass and overcome obstacles…
And Ra passes on his journey in the caves of the underworld with different cosmic forces, each cave guarding one of the powers, and among the most famous of the nitro (cosmic forces) that characterizes the Book of Caves is the shape of a man’s body resembling “Min”. It is called (who hides the hours), a symbol of power Cosmic that helps man penetrate time…
