This house is located in the Darb al-Labban neighbourhood on the northeastern side of Salah al-Din Square (the Citadel today) in the Khalifa neighbourhood in Cairo. It is called “Ali Labib.” The house gained wide fame by using some foreign and Egyptian art men as a studio, which is why it was called “House of Artists.” The Cultural Development Fund is currently repurposing the house as a house for Egyptian architecture. And the second large northwest, which is the main courtyard. And distributed around these two courtyards are the architectural units of the house, which include on the ground floor of the first small courtyard two rooms, the most important of which is the room that overlooks the courtyard. The elements of the house, which consist of two floors, are wrapped around it, the ground is occupied by the takbush (guest reception hall) and the ground hall for men (Mandara – Salamlek), and on the second floor of this courtyard is a group of rooms, a bathroom and a large upper hall for women (Al-Haramlek). Its first owner was fond of art. On the walls of the upper halls, folk drawings representing buildings and parks, and it is one of the early examples of folk art that was popular in many Cairo houses in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries AD. Wooden elements such as mashrabiyas and beaded windows, and stucco decorations interweaved with coloured glass.
