Statue of the owner of the first stone building in history.
#Statue_King_Djoser
This statue was found in a crypt inside the pyramid complex of the king’s step pyramid in the Saqqara region.
While finding this statue, he had in front of his eyes a round hole so that the king could look at the other world after his death, or so that the king could look at the Polar Star and the group of the Big Dipper that the ancient Egyptians were blessing with. He believed that they would be the equalizer of their soul and the path of return. The soul resides in the body after death. This statue was transferred to the Egyptian Museum, and another copy of it was made and placed in front of the opening in Saqqara.
The statue was made of coloured limestone, and the statue depicts the king sitting on a seat with a short armrest and wearing a headdress (the nemes), and a wig appears below it. His foot and right hand were clenched to his chest, and the eyes may have been grafted and lost their vaccinations.
There is a gesture in this statue that was not the custom of the ancient Egyptian, which is the presence of the name of the king’s minister, which is “Imhotep” engraved on the base of the statue. He is the owner of the first development in the construction of tombs of the pyramid shape and the first use of stones in construction in history and other achievements, so the king honoured him by placing His name on his statue base.
