We will talk about the martyr of love, “Isadora”, the first Juliet in the world, and if we talk more precisely, she was more than a thousand years before Juliet.
Isadora, the Egyptian girl with Greek roots, lived with her family on the banks of the Nile in Minya, specifically in the city of Antinopolis, “Sheikh Ubadah now”, where her father was the governor of the region.
In one of the idol “Thoth” celebrations, and when she was 16 years old, her eyes fell on the Egyptian officer of the guard forces in the city “Habi”, and a great love story arose between them for 3 years. They constantly met by the river, but after the 3 years, her father learned about the matter and prevented her from meeting Officer “Habi” but managed to escape from the palace and went to meet her lover.
But her lover did not know that this meeting was the last because, after this meeting, Isadora committed suicide and threw herself in the arms of the Nile.
After Isadora’s death, her father deeply regretted it. He built for her one of the most beautiful tombs of Tuna the Mountain and a beautiful funeral bed of mud bricks with a model in the shape of a shell because of his beliefs; she would become a nymph after she threw herself in the Nile.
As for her loyal lover, the Egyptian officer, Habi, he continued to visit her grave every day and lit a candle in her cemetery so that she would not be alone.
He learned about her story, the writer of Arab poetry, “Taha Hussein”, and he loved her and built a rest house for him next to her in the area of Tuna al-Jabal. Every day during his stay at the break, he would go to the cemetery and light a candle as her lover “Hapi” did, and he wrote her a novel “Isadora, the martyr of love.”
