King Bibi, the first
“Mary Ra”
(2281: 2241 BC)
King Bibi the First was a son of King Tati from Queen Ayut the First, and User Ka-Ra removed him from power upon the death of his father, and after he assumed the throne, which lasted for a long time, he changed his name from “Nefersahor” to “Meri Ra”.
He succeeded in defending Egypt in general and from its eastern borders in particular. Bibi the First realized the increase in the influence of the princes of the regions, so he worked to consolidate his position by getting closer to them. He became a brother-in-law with one of the powerful families of Upper Egypt, as he married the daughter of the Emir of Abydos who gave birth to him his son and his successor to the throne «Mary That Ra », and it is possible that the mother of this prince died when he was young, so his father married her sister, and this gave birth to another son who assumed the throne after his brother. V first built his pyramid in Saqqara, and decorated the walls of his corridors with the funerary texts known as“ the texts of the pyramids ”and named his pyramid“ from Nefer », and therefore some researchers believe that the name of the oldest and first capital of a united Egypt was derived from this term“ Memphis ”, and the arts rose greatly during his reign.
As for his statue: –
The statue of King Bibi the First, which is a life-size portrayal made of copper, was found buried in the Red Kom temple with the statue of “Khasekhem”, and a statue of his son was found inside the hollow statue.
As for how the statue was made, it is thought that the metal plates were knocking on a similar wooden statue and fastened with nails, and the king stands with a stick in his left hand. We find that the body is worn out from the severity of copper erosion, and the statue has increased realistically with eyes studded, and we also find the king’s features in its Dignity.
And from here, the old state ends and the period of decline and decay begins, “the period of the first transition” from the family (7:10), in which the regions’ separation from the centralization of power appears.
Then comes the era of the middle state from the period (2134: 1781 BC) and the family (11:12) and its most famous kings: Mentuhotep II, Senusret I, Senusret III and Amenemhat the Third
