Egypt Magic [1572]
Detail from the inside of the wooden lid of the human-shaped wooden coffin belonging to Astam Khab, the daughter of Ankhsun Ast. She lived in the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty (about 688-525 BC) during the Late Period. From the inside, we find the goddess Nut standing in the form of a lady and raising the sun above her head, which expresses the sunrise and surrounds by the four children of Ozer, Amsty, My Love, Amsty, and Dua Mutif. This sarcophagus (inventory number 1969-197) is now in Lyon’s Museum of Fine Arts (Musée). des Beaux-Arts de Lyon), Lyon, France.
