The Islamic Cairo Tour will take you hundreds of years back when technology was less advanced, and life was less boring. El Darb el Ahmar is a district in the center of Cairo full of Islamic landmarks, including mosques, houses, palaces, mausoleums, collages, one of Cairo’s gates, and a section of the historic Cairo walls that formerly protected the city from invading armies. El Azhar Park, widely regarded as one of Cairo’s most attractive parks thanks to its stunning setting and commanding perspective of the city’s 1,000 minarets, is also home to a thriving handicrafts market and a selection of excellent dining options.

To begin our tour in the very old part of Islamic Cairo, our Egyptologist will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to El Azhar Park, where you’ll hop in a golf cart and travel to the Bab Zuweila Cairo Southern Gate (1092 AD), El Saleh Tala’i Mosque (1160 AD), Qijmas Ishaqi Mosque (1482 AD) or Abu Hariba Mosque (1482 AD) (both of which are featured on the 50 Egyptian Pound).
