The feast of the Osiris tree
In the middle of the month of Kehk every year, the ancient Egyptians celebrated the resurrection of “Ozir.”
And he returned to life in the form of a tree.
The legend of the struggle between good and evil is Isis and Osiris
“User” was a symbol of goodness and symbol fertility, and he married Isis
While her sister, Nephthys, married Sitt, a symbol of evil and violence, she was sterile, not giving birth.
Jealousy came in the same “Set” from his brother “Ozir”. He wanted to plead with him, so he arranged his plot to assassinate him, where he held a party with some of his agents and prepared a beautiful coffin the size of the young king “Ozir” alone, and “Sit” claimed at the ceremony that the coffin is a gift from him to whom The sarcophagus is to be measured. Thus all those present tried to enter the sarcophagus until the turn came on “Ozir”. As soon as he lay in the sarcophagus, he closed the “sat” of the cover and then threw it in the Nile.
But Isis was still searching for the body and sarcophagus of her husband, who traced the river whose waters connected it to the waters of the Mediterranean to the shores of Lebanon and found her husband’s corpse contained a large “tamarisk” tree with its huge leaves.
But the Queen of Lebanon loved the tree, so she ordered to cut it and bring it to decorate the palace.
Isis defrauded her until her husband’s body returned to Egypt inside the tree, so he returned with her the good, planted the plants that were dry and blossomed withered flowers.
Legend has it that Osiris drove back to life, and Isis, their son Horus, gave birth to him, then he died again with plantations and flowers sprouting.
The Egyptian kings were celebrating this day at King Ramses III Temple in Medinet Habu. The celebrations of “The Tree of the Tree” took place on the 15th of Keek month, which falls on December 24.
Every year, the Egyptians celebrated in Abydos on the feast of the “Auxerre” tree in front of its temple, so they brought the greenest trees to be erected and planted in the middle of the field.
