Narmer Palette
Founded by the British scientist “Koebel” in Hierakonpolis near Edfu, it is made of greenschist stone. The Narmer painting is considered one of the first historical paintings. It was written and painted during the reign of King Narmer, who united the two Egyptian kingdoms. The Southern and the northern land, which was called by the ancient Egyptians “Ta-er”, and thus it was the first centrally controlled state of Memphis in history …
★ First, the first face: At the top of the painting, we find two sides of a woman with two ears and two horns of a cow, and she is the goddess, and between the two faces, we find the façade of the palace “the sarkh” and inscribe inside it the name of Narmer, in the picture below, we find the pharaoh, a large-sized pharaoh wearing the white crown of Upper Egypt, And he holds his weapon in his hand to hit one of his northern enemies, “which is distinguished by the wig of the northerners”, and behind the king is the holder of the king’s sandal with a bowl of water, and in front of the king we find the god Horus in the form of a falcon as he presents the king with the head of a captive, and his body is a sign of the land of the ancient Egyptians, and out of it The papyrus plant, meaning evidence that it is the land of the North, and this means that Horus offers the king the land of the Delta to rule it and extend his influence over it ……… After that, we find at the bottom of the painting two enemies fleeing, and next to each of them is the name of the province “Bhutto and Sais” Both of them look behind him, evidence of the strength of what they are fleeing from, and next to them is a drawing of their fortress that Narmer captured …
★ The second face: First, at the top of the carved image, we find the same two faces of the goddess and between them the sark, below it is a scene depicting the end of the war, and the king walks in the victory procession heading to the temple of the holy city of Bhutto, and here the king wears the red crown “the crown of the Delta or Lower Egypt”, and behind it the sandal holder, In front of the king, his chief minister, and above it, the word “sat” means “minister”, and in front of the minister the media campaign, and from the media we conclude that ancient Egypt was the first to have a central government in history, as the history of that painting and this event goes back to 3100 years BC, and on the far right we find a group Of the prisoners whose throats are cut off and placed between their feet, and we see that all the prisoners have their feet facing each other, except for two of them, and that is to distinguish them, and it is believed that they are leaders from the north …….. Below this scene, we find a picture of two mythical animals intertwined with their necks to form the focus of the sallayah to grind as a solution The king …….. At the end of the painting, we find the king depicted in the form of a powerful bull as “proof of his strength”, destroying an enemy fortress and stepping foot on an enemy.
